It was incredibly uplifting and such a highly emotional read for me. However, my curiosity finally won out, and I decided to jump on in. So, I have been a little on the fence about it – mostly because I don’t want to be a big ol’ cry baby. I was also informed that it would most certainly make me cry, and although I enjoy reading all types of romances, I usually stay away from ‘sad’ ones. I was told that I absolutely ‘had’ to read it, that it was ‘life changing,’ and all of the reviews were simply fantastic. This is my first book to read by Kim Holden, and I only heard of ‘Bright Side’ a few months ago although it was written in 2014. So when Kate leaves San Diego to attend college in the small town of Grant, Minnesota, the last thing she expects is to fall in love with Keller Banks. Kate is strong-willed, funny, smart, and musically gifted. She’s endured hardship and tragedy, but throughout it all she remains happy and optimistic (there’s a reason her best friend Gus calls her Bright Side). Kate Sedgwick’s life has been anything but typical.
